Latitude Équateur
Latitude Équateur is a stylish serif typeface inspired by classic French typography and revived for modern digital use. The font combines historical elegance with sharp contemporary details, making it suitable for branding, editorial layouts, posters, and display typography.
The design traces back to a mid-20th-century type project originally associated with the Fonderie Typographique Française, where the typeface Latitude was created as a competitor to the famous Vendôme style. The display variant Équateur features higher contrast and sharper shapes, making it ideal for large titles and artistic typography.
The modern digital revival was produced by Eugénie Bidaut as part of a typography research project at EESAB Rennes, bringing this forgotten style back to contemporary design workflows.
